Matteo Myderwyk - Parable (LP)

Pianist/composer Matteo Myderwyk presents his classical and electronic playing style on his new album Parabel . The album will be released on May 1st via Excelsior Recordings.

After his trilogy completed last year, consisting of the albums To Move (2017), Verses (2018) and Ataraxia (2019), there is now Parabel . To fully understand the concept of the new album by the modern composer and pianist Matteo Myderwyk, you should actually have the vinyl version. On the two sides of the record you will find two completely different musical worlds, a piano side and an electronic side. Yet they are closer together than you would think, because the individual tracks often have a sister track on the other side of the record. To do this, you first have to turn it over, an action that you do not have with the digital version of the album, which also places the tracks in a mixed bag. Parabel is yet another typical Myderwyk concept, possibly best summarized as musical two-equal twins. “I want my music to be 'malleable' and playable on different instruments. Not that I want to compare myself to Bach, but his keyboard works sound equally brilliant on harpsichord, piano or organ.” - says Matteo Myderwyk.
