Philip Kroonenberg - Wherever You Are

Six years after a previous cancer diagnosis, fate struck again at the end of 2022 for Philip Kroonenberg's great love Jellie. She was diagnosed with another, incurable form of cancer. Her health deteriorated and she eventually passed away in June 2023. Kroonenberg's new album 'Wherever You Are' is dedicated to this turbulent period of hospital visits, living between hope and fear and the final farewell.

The album sounds like a photographic report of an intense, very eventful six months and at times almost sounds Dylanesque, but on 'The Wrong Door' a hint of Nits can also be heard and the angelic second voice of daughter Patsy contrasts beautifully with the somewhat drier country sound of Kroonenberg.
'Wherever You Are' is a collection of songs that will leave no one untouched and, in addition to shaping one's own grieving process, also aims to offer comfort to anyone going through a difficult time.
