Bent van Looy - Pyjama Days

Bent Van Looy released his second solo album Pyjama Days on May 6, 2016 via Excelsior Recordings. The multi-talented* Van Looy gave himself complete freedom for this album. Sometimes he didn't know in the morning what would be on tape in the evening. Never before has he trusted himself and the listener so much. A pleasant wind blows through the tracks, once again produced by his hero Jason Falkner.

The result is an album about freedom. Pyjama Days is the story of someone who has come home after many wanderings to tell people what can be found in the world. Love, sadness, loneliness, strength, everything, if you just look closely. He hands us his flowers and says: 'Have the courage to go out and take a tram you've never taken before.'

Bent will play the work from the new album for the first time with the band on May 8 at Here Comes The Summer, the spring edition of Into The Great Wide Open on Vlieland. On June 10, he will present the album in TivoliVredenburg, Utrecht.

* Bent Van Looy has a hard time concentrating on one thing and gets involved in painting, TV work and even his own radio show with live animals on Studio Brussel. Bent is involved with the prestigious French fashion label Le Mont St Michel with his own label The Jante Law. He also designs the label for the wine Cuvée BVL. He works musically with the Swede Peter Von Poehl, the French Chateau Marmont and also remains active as a drummer with his childhood friends Soulwax.

He becomes a coach at The Voice of Flanders (2014 and 2016) and takes the TV viewer along on his walks in various cities during the section The Walker for Café Corsari. The Belgian version of Paddington Bear is also given the voice of Bent Van Looy. For Klara he delves into the two most recent editions of The Original Soundtrack in French & English film music. In addition, Van Looy is a regular guest on the TV show De Wereld Draait Door and in the program 'Bent Spreekt Nederland' he searches for the different dialects in the Netherlands.
