Tangarine - There and Back

Tangarine's new album, There and Back, was recorded in Tucson, Arizona in close collaboration with John Convertino and Joey Burns - the founders of the famous American roots band Calexico. After a number of joint performances in the Netherlands, the idiosyncratic folk duo, consisting of twin brothers Arnout and Sander Brinks, travelled to the Calexico studio in Tucson to record There and Back together with John and Joey. The sublime sound engineer Craig Schumacher (The Jayhawks, Calexico, Neko Case, Amos Lee) also worked on the new album. The result is the best music Tangarine has ever made: inspired folk and Americana, drenched in wonder and melancholy. Including close harmony, a pleading pedal steel, some strings here and there, a wonderfully muted, dry drum sound, and still the elated, disarming sound that typifies Tangarine.
