The Kik Retranslates Eurovision

The Kik comes with new work. In the run-up to the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin on May 14, the band has been busy retranslating again. On The Kik Re-Tales Eurovision, the Rotterdam band takes everyone along old-fashioned and new-fashioned Eurovision material. Original, richly orchestrated and brilliantly performed as only The Kik can.

“Each and every one of them are world hits that you hear around you every day, but then freely translated, retranslated, into your native language,” says Dave von Raven.

At the invitation of Beau van Erven Dorens, The Kik played well-known Eurovision Song Contest hits around the last edition from Rotterdam. The Kik threw these on the proverbial tape and released the five retranslations as an EP. This tasted like more. For years, Dave von Raven has not hidden his fascination and love for the most famous music festival in (at least) Europe. And then especially for the high-quality pop songs. Think of Abba, France Gall, Maggie MacNeal and The Common Linnets, but also Dana International and Bucks Fizz.
