Opera Alaska - The Stream

Marien Dorleijn doesn't waste any time when Moss is still. He has another band with top jazz guitarist Marzio Scholten, called Opera Alaska. It's indie pop that sounds a bit smaller, quieter in terms of melodies and more associative in terms of lyrics.

How the two, Marien and Marzio, joined in the studio by drummer Lisa Ann Jonker (ex-Bombay), found each other: 'I initially only knew Marzio via Facebook,' he says about their first meeting. 'I think it was about gear .' About stuff, in other words. Not entirely unimportant in musician circles. ' We responded to the same post once, but I didn't know him personally. ' A chance physical encounter in the children's department of the IKEA branch in Delft brought the two together. Marien suggested that they do something together. The entire record, which has eleven tracks, was recorded in five sessions in Marien's permanent studio in the Kytopia complex in Den Dolder.
