Tim Knol writes and sings songs, takes photos, runs his own label and regularly goes out with De Wandelclub. He broke through as a musician at a young age, performed at Pinkpop, Lowlands and was embraced by the press, but also came up against himself a few times. Fortunately, he always gets back on his feet and converts his experiences into music. Flash-forward to 2023, to a Tim who is fitter than ever and has reinvented himself again. Because for his new album Long Live Your Friends he chose a different approach. Back to the musical basics. No fuss. He made extensive use of demo recordings on his phone, recorded at home, in dressing rooms, on stage or on the road. These were developed with the help of friend and producer Sam Verbeek into the full-fledged Tim Knol songs that ultimately form the new album. On Long Live Your Friends he reflects on themes such as friendship and social polarization. Tim Knol is concerned about the way we treat each other, but at the same time he is hopeful that we can work it out together. We're Gonna Make It.
