Collection: Sarah van Camp

“Some classical musicians get nervous when there’s no piece of paper in front of them, others feel freer. It’s just a matter of opening yourself up to new things.”

Words by Saartje van Camp from an interview with Het Nieuwsblad in 2007. She has just started with Spinvis and has opened the windows of her possibilities wide. With Erik de Jong she becomes a permanent fixture in the band and as a duo they eventually also make the theater performances Oogcontact van de Eenzameste Soort (2015) and In Werkelijkheid (2019). In the meantime, Saartje releases her own album Walla Kristalla, Liedjes van elke and works with a Fellini-like cast of colorful artists, from Simon Vinkenoog and Wende Snijders to Orkater and the Rosa Ensemble. “I Mastered My Craft” sings the band Parquet Courts. Wherever she goes, whatever she does, Saartje van Camp touches sensitive chords.
