Sofie Winterson

Sofie Winterson creates her own musical world with atmospheric synths, electronic drums, guitars with lots of reverb and her enchanting voice. The album Sophia Electric is a very personal record about love, letting go and change. The agile experimental urge of Arthur Russel, the open and honest approach of songwriters like Big Thief and Elliot Smith, the atmospheric and sublime of bands like Beach House and Mazzy Star, but also the accomplished pop music of Beyonce. All these influences come together in the sound of Sofie Winterson.

Not only is her music well received solo, she also collaborates with great success on the album Imaginary Lines by Fatima Yamaha, the Close My Eyes EP by Rimer London and the single lift me from the ground by San Holo. In addition, she makes the EP Moral in collaboration with fellow songwriter Benny Sings and she regularly appears on stage with post-punk supergroup MICH. Whatever genre Sofie touches, the gift of making heavy themes sound playful makes her songs instantly attractive.
