YAN is Jan van Eerd. Jan studied vibraphone and drums at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and then worked with artists such as Spinvis, Ellen ten Damme and Wende. But now Jan is mainly YAN. Solo. YAN's music is electronic with vintage synthesizers from the seventies and eighties as its basis. The vibraphone and the marimba are the heart of his productions. YAN's music is sometimes quiet and cinematic, but can also be danceable and solid. Inspired by and in the ranks with Jon Hopkins, Four Tet, Nils Frahm and Philip Glass, YAN holds its own.
