Anne Soldaat's new album is called 'Talks Little, Kills Many'. In recent years, Soldaat played with the bands of Tim Knol and Freek de Jonge, he went on the road with Clean Pete and writer Maartje Wortel and his band Daryll-Ann band returned to the stages for a year with their reunion tour.
Last year, Soldaat recorded twelve new songs, with a different approach than on his previous two albums. For the albums In Another Life (2009) and Anne Soldaat (2012), the singer and guitarist went to Los Angeles to record his work with Jason Falkner (Beck, Air, Daniel Johnston). For his third album, he stayed close to home. Recorded in Amsterdam (Volkshotel and Studio Sound Enterprise Noord) and more subdued and acoustic than people are used to from him.
Soldaat played almost all the instruments himself. Here and there accompanied by harp and string quartet with arrangements by Reyer Zwart. A record that reminds of work by Loudon Wainwright III or Randy Newman, but also recalls Golden Earrings Back Home on The Island Man, for which he dared to ask Barry Hay to play the flute once more.
