Bouke Zoete - Million Miles
On January 31st, Bouke Zoete's solo debut Million Miles will be released on Excelsior Recordings. "It's a long way from a 16-year-old boy with a dream to a 43-year-old man with a solo debut album. But I'm grateful that I took it. Making an album that was completely my own, on which I could determine what happened in complete autonomy, that still had to happen. It feels a bit like debuting for advanced players," says Zoete. Million Miles has become an old-fashioned blue-eyed soul album with a rich, glowing sound. Zoete: “Together with producer and bassist Nicolas Rombouts, I simply invited a number of the best musicians in Belgium to a studio in Antwerp and we started playing the songs. And as soon as they sounded good, they were on it. If you give freedom to guys who have earned their spurs with artists like Arno, Tony Allen and Admiral Freebee, they generally do something beautiful with it.”
Bouke Zoete is the singer and songwriter of The Kevin Costners. The band debuted in 2008 with the album Come On In on Excelsior Recordings. In 2014 Pick Up The Parts followed. At Happy Camper Zoete worked on 2 albums: Happy Camper from 2011 and The Daily Drumbeat from 2014.
