Chung Kings presents Surf-O-Tica - 12" LP

Love for surf music. Love for exotica music. That is what a group of musician friends from Amsterdam and the surrounding area share. Friends who have made a name for themselves with their own bands and projects such as Michelle David & The Gospel Sessions, T-99, Beans & Fatback, Bruut! and Lefties Soul Connection. What would it be like to write and record songs out of love for these genres? That is exactly what this collective has done. Recording a collection of old, but not bygone styles and releasing them in the form of a compilation album.

This is a tribute to the session musicians from the fifties and sixties who - between recording sessions with A-artists - had time to record their own music. Instrumentals, that is. Mostly just for fun or as an experiment.
