Some song lyrics are like poetry. The song Here and now (we are really alive) by Esther de Jong, for example. “I wrote it about my generation; how I look at it and how I am in it myself. Some people have it better than others and I have to have it too. The parties, the all-nighters, grinding and showing up at work the next day with a radiant glow. That’s how we bluff our way through life. I have all sorts of opinions about it, but I do it just as much myself.”

The illustrations in the booklet are by Jelle van Gosliga, who also did the artwork for the debut album (out in June). Het Kakkerlakje can be seen as a paper 'video clip' of the song, but can also stand on its own. Ideal to give or send to someone who may also be carried away by the maelstrom just a little too hard.
