Happy Camper, the Edison winning music project by composer, producer and animation filmmaker Job Roggeveen, returns with a new album: Gravity.

Although you wouldn't immediately expect it from the band name, Happy Camper's songs are often about a crisis. Or rather: a transitional period in your life. With The Daily Drumbeat from the previous album, Happy Camper perhaps made the most euphoric song ever about a burn-out. The theme on the new album Gravity is a divorce. Happy Camper founder Job Roggeveen also experienced this transitional period himself. Gravity was written and recorded while his marriage was slowly falling apart. Gravity also marks a break with the past for Happy Camper on a musical level. Where the previous two albums sounded acoustic and quite folky, Happy Camper seeks a grander electronic sound on Gravity. And where Job worked with a fairly fixed group of eleven vocalists on the previous albums, he sought new collaborations for Gravity. Marien Dorleijn and Pien Feith had already sung along, but he got to know Tessa Douwstra, IX, Kris Berry and Emil Landman during the recordings of Gravity. This typifies the change that Job experienced in his life.
