Teddy's Hit - Scratch

Amsterdam indie rock trio Teddy's Hit presents their new album, Scratch . An apt title, because for the ever difficult second album, which will be released by Excelsior Recordings, the band decided to take a different approach and draw inspiration from acts such as Gang of Four and Parquet Courts.

“When making this record, we went for a different sound, more danceable. We no longer worked from pop song skeletons, but more from a groove or vibe,” says drummer and frontman Kick Kluiving. The band recorded all the music themselves in their rehearsal space in Diemen and, in good DIY tradition, also signed for the mix.

The result is an uplifting, beat-heavy record that is danceable, but doesn't shy away from touching on painful themes, such as the end of a relationship and falling back into old patterns. Scratch is a collection of emotionally charged, cathartic songs that repeatedly put the pedal to the metal.
