'Vrijplaats' is the new EP by Wende. After her successful pop album 'Sterrenlopen' from 2023, all-rounder Wende is taking a different approach. She once again shows how diverse her talents and interests are. This time she goes back to basics, just piano and her voice. Everything recorded in one take on one day. In addition to a piano version of 'Het Is Genoeg', there are two covers and two new songs on this EP.
The EP musically ties in with her show of the same name, with which Wende will play an unprecedented number of 19 shows in Carré. She will do this in the period from October 2024 to January 2025. At 'Vrijplaats' no evening is the same. Wende surprises the audience with special guest artists and a unique setlist every evening. With a simple concept as a basis: 2 pianos, her voice and an arsenal of beautiful songs.
Wende started her career in 2003 and has since made seven albums and five of her own shows, with success both at home and abroad. In 2023 she reached a new high in her career with the release of the album 'Sterrenlopen'. This record contained collaborations with Froukje and S10, she was allowed to play at Lowlands, and 'Sterrenlopen' entered the Dutch album charts at #2. This could be added to her already impressive resume. For example, she has won an Edison in almost every category, she was nominated for a Golden Calf as an actress and she toured with her English-language show 'The Promise' in New York, Hong Kong, London and Australia, among others. One thing is certain: this is far from the last you will hear from Wende
