Love for surf music. Love for Tropicalia Oceania. That is what a group of musician friends from Amsterdam and the surrounding area share. Friends who have already built a name for themselves with their own bands and projects such as Michelle David & The Gospel Sessions, T-99, Beans & Fatback, Bruut! and Lefties Soul Connection. Will they be able to translate this shared musical preference into their own compositions? Does Dolly Parton sleep on her back?

Chung Kings fulfills long-cherished wishes in the form of a compilation album. A tribute to the session musicians from the 50s and 60s of the previous century who had time left between recording sessions with A-artists to record their own music. Instrumentals, that is. Mostly just for fun or as an experiment. Illustrious names and titles that appeal to the imagination.
