Collection: Tangerine

For a year, the resident twin of De Wereld Draait Door. Not just because it looks so good. Although it does! Early Beegees, The Kinks, The Everly Brothers; Tangarine is part of a tradition of brothers who shaped the golden days of pop. Album after album, stage after stage, Tangarine teaches harmony. That does not go unnoticed. Volkskrant, Oor and Written In Music praise the singing together. And even in the promised land, the decoy group is heard.

For the album There and Back, the brothers travel to Tucson, Arizona to work with the founders of the famous American roots band Calexico, John Convertino and Joey Burns. The sublime sound engineer Craig Schumacher (The Jayhawks, Neko Case, Amos Lee) also works on the album. The result is a timeless collection of soulful folk and Americana, drenched in wonder and melancholy. All of this in close harmony, a pleading pedal steel, some strings here and there, a wonderfully muted, dry drum sound, and still the elated, disarming sound that typifies Tangarine. Bad mood is not an option.
