Yorick van Norden
Few albums from Dutch soil have been as well received in recent years as Yorick van Norden's The Jester . For example, OOR called it "the perfect pop record, a musical heart-and-soul masterpiece", de Volkskrant called the album "so infectious that you can easily leave the new Paul McCartney for it" and an Edison nomination followed in December 2018.
The Jester is the second album by Yorick van Norden. 'It is named after the court jester from Shakespeare's Hamlet. His name was also Yorick. And it is the first time that my name appears in the history books. He played songs, told stories, brought music to the court of Prince Hamlet.' The daily activities of Yorick van Norden therefore differ little from those of his namesake. Since his first solo album in 2015, Yorick has certainly not been sitting still. In addition to writing songs, the support show for Neil Young in the Ziggo Dome was a personal highlight. He also joined the backing band of the Flemish singer Bent van Looy (Das Pop) and accompanied Anne Soldaat (Daryll-Ann) on a tour of the Netherlands with Unsung Heroes. The Radio 2 Talent has become the main supplier of Timeless Melodies.
